GABRIELLE – The Label Jewellery is available in solid sterling silver and gold plating 24ct (carat) gold.
Gold is the only metal that does not tarnish as it contains no oxides. It is a relatively soft metal so care should be taken when wearing and storing gold jewellery items.
We ensure we use a thicker plating on pieces that receive more wear (e.g rings) however over time the plating will naturally wear off. You can extend the life of your plated piece by following the below guidelines.
HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR JEWELLERY:
All jewellery is handcrafted and is therefore delicate. We encourage customers to take extra care when wearing it daily.
When not being worn, GABRIELLE – The Label Jewellery should be stored in its original packaging. All our jewellery comes in a branded box, which helps to protect your jewellery from knocks and scratches. Store all your jewellery items separately, as jewellery can become tangled or scratched if rubbed against another metal or gemstone. Avoid storing fine jewellery with costume jewellery.
Keep your jewellery in a safe, dry place and out of direct sunlight. Jewellery should not be stored in places with high moisture levels, such as a bathroom or windowsills. Equally jewellery should not be stored in places of high heat levels such as next to a heater. Exposure to these conditions can tarnish jewellery (particularly sterling silver jewellery).
We advise against applying any make-up, hair products, perfumes and lotions before putting on jewellery, as some cosmetics can damage jewellery. It is also recommended to polish your jewellery clean with a dry, lint-free 100% cotton cloth after each wear to remove any cosmetics and natural body oils.
We recommend taking your jewellery off when washing your hands, showering, sleeping, exercising and while dressing to avoid any knocks or scratches to your jewellery.
You should remove your jewellery when in the shower or bath, as well as when bathing in a pool, spa or the ocean, as chemicals such as chlorine can damage metals and plating. For this same reason, it is recommended to remove your jewellery when doing any household cleaning as harsh chemicals such as bleach can cause permanent damage.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELLERY:
Check your jewellery for dirt, marks and scratches regularly.
Do not use any abrasive cleaners or chemicals on your jewellery.
Gold Plated and Sterling Silver jewellery can become dull with wear from the moisture and oils from your body. To renew its beautiful lustre and shine, gently rub your jewellery with a dry, soft, lint-free 100% cotton cloth. Avoid using paper towels or rough tissues as these may scratch the surface of the metal.
Very gentle brushing with lukewarm water, soap, and a soft toothbrush is also recommended for more three dimensional pieces.
